I started a new phase of my life as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Studies at Texas State University, San Marcos, Texas from Fall 2019. My overall experience was enriching and fruitful in several ways. In the first semester, I got to teach two classes that I was passionate about: Health Communication and Empirical Research Methods. I also had significant progress in my research program and held some important service roles.
Prepping two new courses, adapting and acclimating to the new environment, and adjusting as a new Assistant Professor, at times, felt overwhelming. However, reflecting back, it does feel rewarding to have a semester of research, teaching, and service as a Texas State University faculty under my belt.
